Wednesday 13 August
Presence
I hear the Lord whispering my name, inviting me into this time of prayer. I let all other distractions fall away as I bask in the blessing of the nearness of God.
Freedom
Thank you for the gift of freedom, Lord.
Grant that I may always choose to follow You.
Keep me ever mindful of Your ways,
of Your love and concern for all people.
Consciousness
Help me, Lord, to be more conscious of Your presence.
Teach me to recognise Your presence in others.
Fill my heart with gratitude for the times Your Love has been shown to me through the care of others.
The Word of God
Matthew 18:15-20 NRSVue15“If your brother or sister sins against you, go and point out the fault when the two of you are alone. If you are listened to, you have regained that one. 16But if you are not listened to, take one or two others along with you, so that every word may be confirmed by the evidence of two or three witnesses. 17If that person refuses to listen to them, tell it to the church, and if the offender refuses to listen even to the church, let such a one be to you as a gentile and a tax collector. 18Truly I tell you, whatever you bind on earth will be bound in heaven, and whatever you loose on earth will be loosed in heaven. 19Again, truly I tell you, if two of you agree on earth about anything you ask, it will be done for you by my Father in heaven. 20For where two or three are gathered in my name, I am there among them.”

Inspiration
Because we are all sinners it is easy for quarrels and disputes to arise between us. We must always have forgiveness and compassion in our hearts for those who offend us, and be eager to be reconciled with them. It takes courage to go to one who has offended us and to explain how their behaviour has affected us, but it is worth it if it leads to a reconciliation.
People often ask where can we find God. Although God is with us always there is a special presence when even two or three meet to pray. There is a triple focus on God, and it pleases him greatly when we pray together.
Conversation
Dear Lord, stay by my side always.
Gain for me a trusting heart.
Thank You for loving me.
Conclusion
Glory be to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Spirit,
as it was in the beginning,
is now and ever shall be,
world without end. Amen.
Amen
