Presence
“I stand at the door and knock,” says the Lord. (Revelation 3:20). What a wonderful privilege that the Lord of all creation desires to come to me. I welcome His presence.
Freedom
If God were trying to tell me something, would I know?
If God were reassuring me or challenging me, would I notice?
I ask for the grace to be free of my own preoccupations
and open to what God may be saying to me.
Consciousness
I am surrounded by Your loving presence, Lord,
but I am aware of my fragility and weakness.
Thank You that I can face my shortcomings
in Your merciful embrace.
The Word of God
Luke 8:16-18 NRSVue16“No one after lighting a lamp hides it under a jar or puts it under a bed; rather, one puts it on a lampstand, so that those who enter may see the light. 17For nothing is hidden that will not be disclosed, nor is anything secret that will not become known and come to light. 18So pay attention to how you listen, for to those who have, more will be given, and from those who do not have, even what they seem to have will be taken away.”

Inspiration
To state the obvious, a light is meant to be placed where it can light the way for all in a dark place. Christ is the Light of the World. We can light the way for others by how we live our Christian lives. Anthony de Mello said that God enriches with graces all those who seek to help others come to know Jesus Christ better.
Conversation
What graces does God want to bestow on me in this time of prayer? If I listen deep inside, in the quiet of my heart, what is the Lord saying to me there?
Conclusion
I thank God for His gift of love
as I go forth with joy and hope
to serve His people.
Amen
