Presence

The peace of God is the treasure of treasures, “the pearl of great price” – Lord, may I experience this peace right now, in Your holy presence.

Freedom

Dear Lord, instil in my heart
the desire to know and love You more.
May I respond to Your will for my life.

Consciousness

As I talk to You, O God,
help me to grow in appreciation of the gifts of communication.
Grant that I will speak out for those who have no voice
and always have a kind word for those in need.

The Word of God

⁴³And all were astounded at the greatness of God.

While everyone was amazed at all that he was doing, he said to his disciples,

⁴⁴“Let these words sink into your ears: The Son of Man is going to be betrayed into human hands.” ⁴⁵But they did not understand this saying; its meaning remained concealed from them, so that they could not perceive it. And they were afraid to ask him about this saying.

Inspiration

There are times when ‘ignorance is bliss’. For his disciples to accept the end of their beloved Master was a bridge too far, and they were afraid even to ask him about it. While the people acclaimed him as a great wonder-worker, Jesus had to carry alone this burden of knowing about his coming suffering and death, but always with the help of his Beloved Father. We can never really know all that is going on in another’s mind and life. Let us pray never to judge them.

Conversation

May Your Holy Spirit guide me
in all my dealings with others.
May I use the gift of speech with kindness.

Conclusion

Filled with the loving presence of God,
I ask Him to bless me and guide my steps
as I go to do His work in my daily life.
