Monday 24 November
Presence
God is with me, but more,
God is within me, giving me existence.
Let me dwell for a moment on God’s life-giving presence
in my body, my mind, my heart
and in the whole of my life.
Freedom
Everything has the potential to draw forth from me a fuller love and life.
Yet my desires are often fixed, caught, on illusions of fulfillment.
I ask that You, God, through my freedom, may orchestrate my desires
in a vibrant, loving melody, rich in harmony, fulfilling Your will through me.
Consciousness
Heavenly Father, may I grow in virtue as I take time out of my day to listen to You and spend time with You. May Your goodness overflow into my life, and from my life into the lives of all those I meet.
The Word of God
Luke 21:1-4 NRSVue1He looked up and saw rich people putting their gifts into the treasury; 2he also saw a poor widow put in two small copper coins. 3He said, “Truly I tell you, this poor widow has put in more than all of them, 4for all of them have contributed out of their abundance, but she out of her poverty has put in all she had to live on.”

Inspiration
It is one thing to give out of your abundance, but quite another thing to give away the little you have to live on. But God is the One who gives us every moment of life, and the scriptures and the lives of the saints contain many stories of his endless providence and generosity.
You may wish to recall any of these stories or simply take Matthew 6:25-36 and pray on it.
Conversation
“He looked at him and loved him”. (Mark 10:21). Can I allow myself to sit in the loving gaze of Jesus, Who loves me at all times and places, in all circumstances? God always looks at me with unconditional love.
Conclusion
I thank God for these few moments we have spent alone together and for any insights I may have been given concerning the text.
Amen
