Wednesday 11 March
Presence
“I stand at the door and knock,” says the Lord. (Revelation 3:20). What a wonderful privilege that the Lord of all creation desires to come to me. I welcome His presence.
Freedom
I try to let go of concerns and worries
that may be dragging me down at this present moment.
I place any concerns I have in God’s hands
– at least for these few minutes of prayer.
Consciousness
How wonderful it is to be able
to enter into Your presence, Lord;
no matter what time it is,
no matter which land I am in,
I need only speak Your Name.
The Word of God
Matthew 5:17-19 NRSVue17“Do not think that I have come to abolish the Law or the Prophets; I have come not to abolish but to fulfill. 18For truly I tell you, until heaven and earth pass away, not one letter, not one stroke of a letter, will pass from the law until all is accomplished. 19Therefore, whoever breaks one of the least of these commandments and teaches others to do the same will be called least in the kingdom of heaven, but whoever does them and teaches them will be called great in the kingdom of heaven.

Inspiration
Jesus had the great ability both to see things in a new way and to explain to his audience how they might move on wisely with their lives. He knew that the traditional way of doing things needed to be constantly reviewed, and in some instances, certain practices people held to had to be refreshed. ‘New wine for new wineskins’ was the way he put it. Still, it’s clear that Jesus also had great respect for his own Jewish traditions. Sound judgement was needed then – as now – on how best to proceed.
Conversation
Dear Lord, stay by my side always.
Gain for me a trusting heart.
Thank You for loving me.
Conclusion
Filled with the loving presence of God,
I ask Him to bless me and guide my steps
as I go to do His work in my daily life.
Amen
