Dé Sathairn 28 Márta
Láthair Dé
Go raibh mo chroí lúcháireach i do ghrá, a Thiarna.
Lig dom bheith beo as an nua arís gach lá.
Saoirse
A Thiarna, scaoilim leis an imní, an doicheall agus an eagla
a choinním grfeim daingean orthu uaireanta.
Deonaigh dom mo lámha agus mo chroí a oscailt chun glacadh go saor leis na tíolacthaí a bhfuil gá agam leo anois.
Comhfhios
A Thiarna, cuidigh liom a bheith i gcónaí
eolach ar na rudaí tábhachtacha sa saol,
aire a thabhairt dóibh siúd atá thart orm,
chun do láithreacht a lorg i ngach duine lena mbuailim.
Briathar Dé
John 11:45-56 NRSVue45Many of the Jews, therefore, who had come with Mary and had seen what Jesus did believed in him. 46But some of them went to the Pharisees and told them what Jesus had done. 47So the chief priests and the Pharisees called a meeting of the council and said, “What are we to do? This man is performing many signs. 48If we let him go on like this, everyone will believe in him, and the Romans will come and destroy both our holy place and our nation.” 49But one of them, Caiaphas, who was high priest that year, said to them, “You know nothing at all! 50You do not understand that it is better for you to have one man die for the people than to have the whole nation destroyed.” 51He did not say this on his own, but being high priest that year he prophesied that Jesus was about to die for the nation, 52and not for the nation only, but to gather into one the dispersed children of God. 53So from that day on they planned to put him to death.
54Jesus therefore no longer walked about openly among the Jews but went from there to a town called Ephraim in the region near the wilderness, and he remained there with the disciples.
55Now the Passover of the Jews was near, and many went up from the country to Jerusalem before the Passover to purify themselves. 56They were looking for Jesus and were asking one another as they stood in the temple, “What do you think? Surely he will not come to the festival, will he?”
Inspioráid
Ba fhórsa reiligiúnach agus polaitiúil araon é Caiafas, an t-ardsagart, i measc na nGiúdach. D’fhéadfadh sé a fheiceáil conas a bhí cúrsaí ag dul agus chonaic sé go raibh trioblóid le teacht orthu go luath. Bhí sé praiticiúil ó nádúr agus bhí sé ag smaoineamh ar na trioblóidí a d’fhéadfadh Íosa a chruthú dá bhfágfaí saor é ag fánaíocht de réir a thola. Bhí dúshlán á thabhairt don status quo, agus bhí gá le rud éigin a dhéanamh, agus mar sin dúirt Caiafas gur fearr aon duine amháin a fháil bháis ar son an phobail, ná an cine go léir a dhul ar ceal.
D’Íosa, áfach, bhí tábhacht le gach duine aonair, óir ghlaoigh sé ar gach duine againn as a ainm. Ba mhaith leis freisin go nglaofaí air as a ainm chun a chinntiú go dtiocfaidh an Ríocht i gcrích inár ndomhan.
Comhrá
Socraím mé féin arís tar éis Briathar Dé a chloisteáil. Cad ba mhaith liom a thabhairt liom isteach i mo lá? Cad ba mhaith liom a thabhairt liom ó am léitheoireachta nó urnaí an lae inniu?
Conclúid
Gabhaim buíochas le Dia as na cúpla nóiméad seo a chaitheamar le chéile agus as aon léargas a fuair mé maidir leis an téacs.
