Oh God, I am so full of thoughts and feelings today. I calm myself by focusing on my breathing, by feeling the warmth of your love embracing me. I settle in the centre of your stillness, your steady presence.
Ask
Today, I come to you with a prayer for a marriage proposal. My excitement is so exuberant; my joy could break forth like a song. For I am ready for a new beginning. I want to start the next chapter of my life with my love, and I want it to start right now! I ask for your blessing to take this major step of weaving separate lives together into a shared story.

I remember when Mary said yes to you. How you proposed a new life to her, a new way to join her story ever closer to your own. Mary’s love was bold. She said yes to whom she knew – you – and in doing so, committed herself to an ambiguous future. Joining with you, everything and anything felt possible. Her trust and courage blossomed into joy, bursting into song as our Saviour took shape within her body.

Oh God, bless this marriage proposal and our deepening union. May we, like Mary, be bold in our commitment to each other and to all of the unknowns on the path ahead of us. Grant us the grace and humility needed to enter into this special time of greater commitment as an engaged couple, of joy and trust as we proclaim our intention to be companions on the journey.

In your presence, my joy doubles. I can recognise the abundance of my blessings, and I am full of gratitude. Thank you, Jesus, for blessing my life with love, with a companion. Help me to love as you love, to give my ‘yes’ to my beloved and to you, all the days of my life.
