Pause
Loving God, I give thanks that every moment is an open doorway into Your presence. As I ground myself in this moment, I imagine walking through that doorway into a room where You await me, gazing upon me with love and tenderness. I sit beside You and rest for a moment in the peace You always offer to me.
Ask
In this quiet space I share with You my prayer for my sick dog. Lord, You know how deeply I love my dog, how thankful I am for the comfort and companionship my dog brings me. I imagine carrying my beloved dog to You, both of us creatures, human and canine, reflecting Your light. I ask for the grace and mercy of Your healing for my sick dog.
Listen
As I incline my ears to hear Your tender voice, Lord, I remember with gratitude the goodness of all Your creation. I hold in my heart the example of St. Francis of Assisi, who was especially close to animals, understanding that the beauty of every living being is but one language in which You communicate Your love and tenderness to us.

Jesus, I envision You cradling my sick dog in Your arms, Your hands gently ruffling soft fur. I know that You care for my dog in the same way the shepherd cared tenderly for his lost sheep. I know, too, that You care for me, Your love encompassing every part of my life, Your care extending to my every worry.
Reflect
God, I feel reassured that You are with me. Each time I hold my sick dog, I know that Your hands of mercy join alongside mine, wrapping my dog in gentle care. As I wait and hope for healing and recovery, I thank You that I do not wait alone.
