Pause
God, I turn to you as the source of all wisdom and knowledge. As children go back to school, stir up in them the desire to seek, know, and serve you. In the midst of a season of preparation and change, lend them your strength and peace. You are here with them now; allow them to sense your holy presence.
Ask
Bless all children as they go back to school. At the beginning of this journey, open their minds to seek your truth, beauty, and goodness in their studies. Take all anxiety and fear of the unknown away from them now. Open their hearts to practice your way of peace, integrity, and love as they meet obstacles in their path. At the end of the term, may they give you gratitude and glory for walking with them each day.
Listen
Jesus, you are our Teacher. You called the children to come to you and shared the message of the good news with them. I picture you now, sitting with the children that I know. I see your heart burning with love and hope for them. I see them listening to your words and following your way of love.

As children go back to school, I know they will learn many lessons outside of the classroom, too. Soften their hearts towards their classmates, that they may find in each other true and lasting friendships. Inspire them with courage to try new things and perseverance for times when they fail. Bless every adult they will meet this year with patience and love.
Reflect
Each school term brings its own blessings and challenges, but I know you will be with these children through it all. Guide them and protect them as they gather their supplies, travel to school, and meet their teachers and classmates. Assure their parents and caregivers that these children are in good hands. Bless the beginning, middle, and end of this term with your loving, providential care.
