God of Life, I enter your loving presence with the confidence that you abhor evil and rejoice in compassion; you detest indifference and delight in mercy; you are abounding in kindness, and forgive every sin. Your mercy overflows and pours out like honey on the comb, like a river in Spring. Thank you for receiving me with such hospitality and tenderness.
Ask
I pray for the forgiveness of sins and for the clearing of all obstacles preventing union with you and your holy path. Jesus, you are The Way. Let the wilderness of life be cleared so that your path of mercy can be abundantly accessible.
Listen
Where there is sin, flush it out with the force of a rushing river, cleansing and sifting out all that is toxic, that contaminates abundant life, that leads to death. Living Water, let your mercy and justice roll over all that would cause stumbling, delusion or doubt. May the path of righteousness shine as clearly as the light of dawn. May your forgiveness fall as softly and deftly as rain on dry fields.

Sin is blocking out the light of your love. It is hindering the fullness of your abundant life. It is severing branches from the vine. May the old ways pass away, and something new can begin. The transformative power of your forgiveness is desperately needed. May your forgiveness take root today, and bear the fruit of your Spirit at work in the world.

In light of your forgiveness, I can believe all will be well. In the sweetness of your mercy, I can breathe fresh air and live anew. With the promise of your justice, I dare to cast off shame and chains. Instead of cowardice, I put on courage. Instead of hiding, I seek connection and community. Thank you, Jesus, for the healing power of your ever-ready forgiveness.
