Pause
In this quiet moment, I pause to consider the many intricate systems that are at work in my body, beyond my notice. I place my finger on my pulse and give thanks for my beating heart, my breathing lungs, and all the movements of my cells and neurons. I dwell here for a moment, in gratitude for my body, which is fearfully and wonderfully made.
Ask
God who took on flesh, I ask You for the gift of good health. In the case of illness, I ask for Your healing touch. In the case of weakness, I ask for Your fortifying strength. Creator of all, Your beauty and wisdom are richly displayed in the human body. Grant me the eyes to see Your goodness reflected in my body and the good health to enjoy it.
Listen
Jesus, I imagine walking alongside You, as the disciples did along the road to Emmaus. I take note of our footfalls and the sounds of our voices, both beautiful mysteries of the human body. All too often we consider our bodies as a hindrance to the spiritual life, as something opposed to the soul, but I hear Your gentle invitation to see my body and my good health as a site of encounter with You.

God, in my busy days, I do not always take time to give thanks for the gift of my body and to ask for the gift of good health. But in this moment, I recognize Your hand at work not only in my heart and soul, but also in my body. I ask today for the grace of good health that I might live my vocation fully, and if illness should befall me, for Your tender mercy and healing of my body.
Reflect
Loving God, our bodies are so strong, and yet so fragile, sacred mysteries that reflect Your creativity and generosity. I place my prayers and hopes for good health entirely in Your hands, grateful for the assurance of Your presence with me, in my heart, in my soul, and in my body.
