Pause
I take a moment to ground myself in this time and space, feeling the chair beneath me, taking note of the sustaining air that surrounds me. I offer my gratitude that You meet me, God, right here and now, and in every moment of my life.
Ask
Jesus, as I feel the kindness of Your gaze upon me, I offer to You my prayer for healing for others. I recall Your tender attention to so many people who suffered from illnesses and ailments in the gospels, and I know that Your care extends across time and space to the ones I love, those whose healing I place in Your loving hands.
Listen
I call to mind the paralysed man whose friends removed the roof in order to lower him down to You, Jesus, and I pray that I may be that friend to those who are suffering in my life. Allow me, Lord, to carry them gently into Your presence, that You may lay Your healing hands upon them.
Share
God, I know You hear the longing in my voice as I pray for my loved ones and ask for healing for others. I know that You, too, had a body, Jesus, and that You suffered deeply. I feel comforted in knowing that my loved ones do not suffer alone, and I ask that You bring them comfort in their illness and usher them into full health and recovery.
Reflect
I breathe deeply and peacefully, knowing that my loved ones are tenderly cared for by You, God. Each time I imagine them at doctor’s visits or in hospital beds, I imagine You sitting next to them, Your mercy and healing touch always available to them. I offer my deep gratitude to You, God, for always accompanying us in our prayers and in our lives.
