Pause
Placing my hand upon my heart, I feel its steady beat and recall Your constant care for me, God, not just for my soul, but for my body and my mind. I pause with gratitude as I imagine myself stepping into the light, basking in the knowledge that I am fully seen, known, and loved by You.
Ask
God of mercy, fountain of grace, I thank You that You hear my cry, my prayer for mental health, for myself or for others in my life. Our minds are a holy mystery, each one so complex, and I feel safe entrusting that mystery to You, asking for the gifts of health and strength.
Listen
Creator God, I remember with gratitude that each one of us is fearfully and wonderfully made, not just our hearts and lungs, but also our nerves and synapses, our brain waves and neuron receptors. I imagine Your tender weaving together of the nervous system, and I feel assured of Your love and attention to my mental health and the mental health of all those I love.
Share
St. John of the Cross taught us that silence is Your first language, God, and in this silence I know that You are here with me, listening to me share my burdens and offering me peace. Our mental health is so vital to our thriving, God, and I thank You that it never escapes Your compassionate notice. I imagine you placing the gift of mental health in my hands, and I offer my gratitude.
Reflect
Reflecting on my time in prayer, I am filled with peace, knowing that Your intimate knowledge and care for us extend beyond our hearts and bodies to our minds as well. I feel safe entrusting my mental health and the mental health of my loved ones to You, Jesus. Thank you for hearing me and for responding with love.
