Pause
I take several deep breaths in and out as I turn my mind and spirit toward prayer. Each time I inhale and exhale, I take comfort in the knowledge that you are as close as my next breath. As I feel the warmth of your loving gaze, I rejoice that you are Emmanuel, God with us.
Ask
God who hears our cries, can there be any deeper longing than the longing for a child? Trusting in your kindness, I offer you this prayer for infertility. Each child is a miracle and a mystery, woven together through love both human and divine. I ask for the grace of patience as I wait, unable to see what the future holds. May each day carry me closer to the desire I hold most dear.
Listen
Jesus, as I turn toward your love, I remember the stories of Abraham and Sarah, of Isaac and Rebekah, and of Zechariah and Elizabeth. Although I am waiting, God, I am comforted that I do not wait alone, that I am part of a long line of families experiencing infertility who have placed their hope in you, turning to you with their prayers and their longings.
Share
I imagine sitting with you alongside a quiet stream, Jesus, and I feel your compassionate presence as I share that I am weary, having hoped for so long. I am afraid that my ability to have a child is passing me by just like the stream that flows beside us. Knowing that you see and hold us through every heartbreak, every tear, I feel assured that I do not carry this sorrow alone.
Reflect
A lightness fills me as I reflect on my time with you, Jesus. I remember Isaiah’s promise that those who trust in you renew their strength and soar on wings like eagles. My future remains uncertain, God, but with your love holding me up, I feel that I can take to the skies with renewed hope. Thank you for hearing and holding tenderly my prayer for infertility.
