Lord, thank you for being my companion on life’s journey, each day, and in each moment, including this one. Help me to tune in to your presence now…

1 Samuel 16:7

⁷ But the Lord said to Samuel, “Do not look on his appearance or on the height of his stature, because I have rejected him, for the Lord does not see as mortals see; they look on the outward appearance, but the Lord looks on the heart.”

Reflection

Do I make snap decisions about people based on how they look, dress, or talk? Do I judge them because of where they’re from or where they live? Do I measure their worth by the schools they’ve gone to or the jobs they’ve had? Or the car they drive, or where they’ve been on holiday? Am I preoccupied with appearances rather than the heart, soul, and mind?

Closing prayer  

Dear God, when I find myself judging someone today, give me the grace to stop and re-evaluate, to take the time to see the person within. Help me live my faith.  Amen.
