2 Corinthians 4:8-9

⁸ We are afflicted in every way but not crushed, perplexed but not driven to despair, ⁹ persecuted but not forsaken, struck down but not destroyed.

Reflection

We might wonder why things happen the way they do. We might rail against things going wrong. We might think nothing ever goes right for us. We may feel like God has forgotten us, that he has abandoned us. But he is always there. He has our back. He never abandons us. As Christians, we know this. We may get knocked down, but we get up again and again and keep on going. We know our why and refuse to give up.

Closing prayer

Dear God, when things get to be too much for me, when I feel like giving up, I will hand everything to you, knowing you will carry me through it.  Help me live my faith.  Amen.
