Deuteronomy 6:6-7

⁶ Keep these words that I am commanding you today in your heart. ⁷ Recite them to your children and talk about them when you are at home and when you are away, when you lie down and when you rise.

Reflection

There’s an increasing tendency to allow children and young adults to choose their own faith. Their life, their choice. As Christians, our duty is to facilitate an informed decision. If we lead by example, if we talk openly about our beliefs, if we encourage questions and take the time to discuss our faith, then their decision will be an informed decision. 

Closing prayer

Dear God, give me the courage to speak about my faith, to invite questions, to open myself to challenge and debate, knowing that  in sharing my beliefs, I do so in your name.  Help me live my faith.  Amen.
