Tuesday of the 5th week of Lent
Lord, thank you for being my companion on life’s journey, each day, and in each moment, including this one. Help me to tune in to your presence now…
Isaiah 41:10
10 Do not fear, for I am with you; do not be afraid, for I am your God; I will strengthen you; I will help you; I will uphold you with my victorious right hand.
Some days, life seems particularly hard to cope with. Nothing goes right. From the minute we get up in the morning, we’re under pressure. Pressure to do something for someone, to be somewhere. Perhaps the news from the doctor isn’t good. Or the bills are piling up. Or a kid has an issue in school. Perhaps a relationship breaks down. Maybe the car breaks down. It could well be that were these all one-time occurrences, we could take them in our stride, but when they all come together and our day goes from bad to worse, what do we do? What we should do is stop, and have a chat with God and ask him to get us through the day. He promised he would.
Dear God, be my first port of call when things go wrong. Give me the confidence to confide in you knowing you keep your promises. Help me live my faith. Amen.
