Lord, thank you for being my companion on life’s journey, each day, and in each moment, including this one. Help me to tune in to your presence now…

Colossians 3:23-24 

²³ Whatever task you must do, work as if your soul depends on it, as for the Lord and not for humans, ²⁴ since you know that from the Lord you will receive the inheritance as your reward; you serve the Lord Christ.

Reflection

We put a value on our time – a human value. We sell our time for what our employers are willing to pay. And we get what we pay for, right? The more we pay, the better the service we expect. We might think of someone as being just a cleaner or only a mechanic. We might think of ourselves in the same way. But if we really value our time and our effort, and if everything we do, we do in service of God, then my hour is worth as much as your hour, even if I’m washing cars and you’re running a country.

Dear God,  Everything I do today, I will do to the best of my ability.  Help me live my faith.  Amen.
