Pope’s Intention November 2023

We pray for the Holy Father; as he fulfils his mission, may he continue to accompany the flock entrusted to him, with the help of the Holy Spirit.

A Daily Offering Prayer

Eternal Father, I offer You everything I do this day: my work, my prayers, my apostolic efforts; my time with family and friends; my hours of relaxation; my difficulties, problems, and distress, which I shall try to bear with patience.

Join these, my gifts, to the offering which Jesus Christ, Your Son, renews today in the Eucharist. Grant, I pray, that, enlivened by the Holy Spirit and united to Mary, my life this day may be of service to you and your people, and help consecrate the world to you. Amen.

Evening Prayer

Before the ending of the day, Creator of the world, we pray that you, with steadfast love, would keep Your watch around us while we sleep.

O Father, that what we ask be done through Jesus Christ, your only Son; and the Holy Spirit, by whose breath our souls are raised to life from death. Amen.

Synodality – Pope Francis to Jesuits at WYD in Portugal

Pope Francis conveyed his anticipation regarding the impending Synod, a gathering of Church leaders to deliberate on significant matters. He clarified that the Synod wasn’t his brainchild; instead, it aimed to restore synodality within the Church—a concept first championed by Pope St. Paul VI.

He emphasised that the driving force behind the Synod was the Holy Spirit, guiding its deliberations devoid of political bias or a focus on garnering votes.
