John 14:12-14 NRSVue
12Very truly, I tell you, the one who believes in me will also do the works that I do and, in fact, will do greater works than these, because I am going to the Father. 13I will do whatever you ask in my name, so that the Father may be glorified in the Son. 14If in my name you ask me for anything, I will do it.

Further reflection
The Bible never lets us forget that God is beyond our imagination, always greater than any concept we have of him. We dare not domesticate God. Even the title Father is a metaphor. God is a spirit, invisible, beyond body or gender or space or time. As we learn more about our universe, our sense of the creator's transcendence grows sharper. But in Jesus we have access to God, not just as creatures who know him, but as his children, like Jesus.
