Luke 6:17-19 NRSVue
17He came down with them and stood on a level place with a great crowd of his disciples and a great multitude of people from all Judea, Jerusalem, and the coast of Tyre and Sidon. 18They had come to hear him and to be healed of their diseases, and those who were troubled with unclean spirits were cured. 19And everyone in the crowd was trying to touch him, for power came out from him and healed all of them.

Some thoughts on this scripture
Reflection
This is a picture of an active Jesus. Imagine yourself in the scene; what
would you be there for?
Reflection
Do I acknowledge this power that Jesus has? What do I feel about it;
disbelief, fear, relief...?
Reflection
Healing can happen in many ways, visible and invisible. Are there things in
my life that need healing? If so, Jesus is waiting with open arms.
Reflection
You were not on a high place, Lord, but low down, on a level with us. People
crowded round you, eager to touch you. I am with them in imagination, drawing
strength and health from you. Like them I want to hear you and to be healed.
What is there in my life that needs healing?
Reflection
/Those who were troubled with unclean spirits./ That sounds remote and
unscientific; but I admit, Lord, I am one of that crowd. I am troubled at
times in spirit, and what troubles me is a spirit of vindictiveness, or
resentment, or lust, or malice, or simply ennui. I do not ask you to wave a
wand, but rather to let me into your spirit, and believe in my capacity for
goodness.
