Mark 16:15-18 NRSVue
15And he said to them, “Go into all the world and proclaim the good news to the whole creation. 16The one who believes and is baptized will be saved, but the one who does not believe will be condemned. 17And these signs will accompany those who believe: by using my name they will cast out demons; they will speak in new tongues; 18they will pick up snakes, and if they drink any deadly thing, it will not hurt them; they will lay their hands on the sick, and they will recover.”

Reflection on Mark 16:15-18
Inspiration from 2025-01-25 Daily Prayer
As Pope Francis reminds us we all have a mission to witness to the truth of our faith. May our lives, in their own quiet way, proclaim the message of the Good News.
The Spirit of Jesus has been given to the Church and Jesus has promised to be with us always. His healing power has passed on into the sacraments. In every sacrament we encounter him. Let us pray for a deeper trust in his saving power.
Further reflection
I consider how I might bring the blessing of good news to the people that I meet or think about.
The good news is not just for men and women, but is for the whole creation. I think of how I depend on God's complex creation and consider whether I am living in a way that is respectful of the world.
Jesus says, 'Go'; I extend my prayer beyond the limits of my concerns and pray for the wider world that I live in connection with.
I pray for healing for those parts of creation that are wounded and damaged, that have yet to learn of the good news that Jesus sends us to proclaim.
I proclaim the good news to the whole of creation by the way I live, by being a blessing to the world that God has made.
