Mark 2:21-22 NRSVue

21“No one sews a piece of unshrunk cloth on an old cloak; otherwise, the patch pulls away from it, the new from the old, and a worse tear is made. 22Similarly, no one puts new wine into old wineskins; otherwise, the wine will burst the skins, and the wine is lost, and so are the skins, but one puts new wine into fresh wineskins.”

Some thoughts on this scripture

Reflection
Jesus does not want my life to be a patchwork of pieces of my choosing. Instead, he invites me to be made anew. I pray for the vision, hope and courage that I need.

Reflection
I ask God for the humility I need to accept the wisdom of the Gospel instead of replacing it with my own.
