Some thoughts on this scripture

Reflection
Herod was too concerned with the promise that he had made and his status in the eyes of his guests: if he did not have the humility to back down. Sometimes I need to check that I am not simply being stubborn or gain in persisting with what I have set my mind to.

Reflection
Herod was unable to listen to his heart: he let his heart be swayed by his pride. God speaks to me through my emotions, I take time to listen.
