Luke 10:23-24 NRSVue
23Then turning to the disciples, Jesus said to them privately, “Blessed are the eyes that see what you see! 24For I tell you that many prophets and kings desired to see what you see but did not see it and to hear what you hear but did not hear it.”

Further reflection
The disciples of Jesus have a privileged experience, and so do we.
Many people long to have a real, living relationship with God. Jesus is offering it to me on a plate, now.
Thank you, Lord, for the Scriptures, giving us an inkling of your reality, how you deal with humankind, and how you appeared in your incarnate Son. Until I see you face to face, your word will fuel me on my way, opening my mind and heart to you.
Blessed are the eyes that saw God made visible in human form. In Jesus the potentialities of human nature were wonderfully revealed. He is the end and climax of the evolutionary process, because in him man meets God. Lord, even at this distance I do not tire of contemplating your depths.
