St. Patrick lived a hard life after being kidnapped from his home and living as a slave in Ireland. Patrick cried out to a God he didn’t yet know, but God knew him, just as he knows each one of us. God found Patrick looking after sheep on a mountain in the remotest corner of the island of Ireland.

Let us cry out to God now in our deepest need or fear, knowing and believing that he will answer us.

We also ask that he hear our cry for peace on earth, and we echo the call of Pope Leo XIV for peace among the leaders of the world. Bless and protect all the innocent who are being killed or injured in these wars, and bring comfort to those who are suffering. Amen.
