St. Brigid, whose feast day is February 1st, is renowned for her faith in God and for her role as a peacemaker. Despite growing up as a slave in a pagan society, God anointed her and gave her the faith to believe that she would be used to bless others and bring many to the Lord. She was a strong character, a warrior woman for her faith, and was not afraid to go against her pagan father and give away his possessions to the poor and needy.

We pray that we may be inspired by St. Brigid’s faith and ask for peace and compassion in our own lives and in a world in turmoil.
