After the angel appeared to Mary, she went to visit Elizabeth, her kinswoman. In that sacred meeting, both women were filled with joy and the presence of God. Even the child in Elizabeth’s womb recognised the Spirit of God dwelling in Mary.

Their encounter reminds us that the Holy Spirit breaks down every barrier of race, nationality, and creed, drawing hearts together in love and recognition of God’s presence in each of us. May we, too, be open to the Spirit in one another and be filled with the grace, joy, and peace of God. Amen!
