As we celebrate World Day of the Sick, we reflect on the Good Samaritan, as Pope Leo XIV invited us to do. We lift up in prayer the sick, the frail, the forgotten, and the wounded in body or spirit. We pray for caregivers who give of themselves often in unseen and unrewarded faithfulness. Bless those we know and love who are ill, and those who suffer alone, with no one to care for them.  Like the Good Samaritan, let us not pass by, but stop, see and be active participants in caring for the needy, offering what we have to ease the suffering of others. Amen.
