I remember Mary carrying You in her womb, Jesus, and I ask her to keep me holy company as I await the birth of my child. With every movement, let me be assured of Your kindness, God, Your loving attention to the little one within my womb.
I recall that the prophet Isaiah tells us that those who hope in You will soar on wings like eagles. I imagine in this moment that I am moving gracefully through the air on the wings of Your hope.
God of all generosity, I ask for the treasure that is greater than gold, wisdom. It is wisdom that teaches us to see clearly, to make good decisions, and to make sense of our lives and the world around us.
I beg for your protection to cover all areas of conflict. I cry out for peace, for reconciliation, for justice. Enfold the innocent in the safety of your wings (Psalm 91). Heal the wounds of bodies, minds, and souls scarred by violence.
I place my suffering friend directly at your feet, within reach of your healing hands. I pray for an abundance of healing: Ease what is aching, lift what is unbearable, shift what is obstructive, connect what is cut off.
When I feel alone, overwhelmed, or afraid, make your presence known to me, God. You have the power to protect and save us from the forces of evil in the world.
Good and loving God, I offer you a prayer of thanks. For all that you have done, for all that has been given. How could I ever thank you enough? This gratitude is without end.
God, I long to blend in and fit amongst my peers. My heart deeply desires acceptance and community. Guide me to those who also hope for companionship – may I offer to others the community I crave
Like a mother hen, you gather me close under your wings. Under your protection, I find rest and comfort. Your nearness is balm. Your love, the best medicine.
